I'll Take A Second Place Finish...

The Spartans did quite a bit to defeat themselves tonight, especially in the first half. Too many turnovers. Too many missed shots. Too many mistakes.

With that said, there are 332 other teams in the country that would do just about anything to trade places with the Spartans tonight.

So with that said, I'm still really proud of the team. They did an excellent job this season, battling through some injuries and some bad losses. They made an excellent run through the tournament, maybe facing the toughest road that I've ever seen. USC was a #10 seed that was as talented as most Top 10 teams. If it wasn't for a few injuries that led to a string of losses midseason for the Trojans, they would have been a #4 seed, at least. Kansas was the defending National Champion. Louisville was the Number One Number One Seed. UConn was a beast.

Maybe the Spartans got tired. Maybe they got nervous. Maybe they just got beat by a better team.

Whatever it was, they did the state and the fans proud, and for that, I say "THANK YOU!!!"

With that said, this is a relatively young Spartan team, and I look for them to move forward from this.

Go State!!!!
