UConn, You Can...

...go home now.
Big East, best conference in the NCAA?? I'd have to say that right now the Spartans are hoping for a Villanova smack down of the Tar Heels, because Sparty has had absolutely no trouble dealing with these so called Beasts from the Big East.

UConn is the latest victim, falling in a game that was effectively dominated by Michigan State's backups. MSU got 32 points from it's reserves...the Huskies got 7...yes, that's correct, seven. Add to that 21 points by Kalin Lucas and 18 from the Masked Avenger, Raymar Morgan.
Morgan played stellar basketball tonight, getting those 18 points in 30 minutes of time. That nearly triples his total of points in the last 3 games against Kansas, USC, and Louisville. Morgan finally looked like the player he was early in the season, before getting mono and pneumonia.

Michigan State once again controlled the flow of the game, especially in the second half. The Spartans are showing themselves to be a very powerful second half team so far in this tournament. For a minute it got dicey near the end, thanks in total to some really poor officiating. But the Spartans put it together when they needed to and sent a UConn team home to plan their next recruiting scandal.

The Spartans are certainly playing well.

I think they will probably be going against Carolina. Even though Nova has a bunch of people from the DC area; my ACC roots are kicking in.

See ya in the finals!
