Wow...

So as I sit here watching the Detroit Red Wings and the Chicago Blackhawks play Game 3 of the Western Conference Finals, it is becoming very apparent to me that the NHL doesn't want the Red Wings to play the Pens in the Finals again.

Absolutely HORRIBLE officiating going against the Red Wings tonight. The five minute major on Kronwall was absolutely horrendous...let alone the holding call after that penalty was over, and the double minor for high sticking. Absolutely horrible.

Of course, this is to be expected. The Red Wings have consistently dealt with the referees not wanting them to win games. I don't know what exactly it is. In every other sport, the best teams are generally given the majority of the calls in their favor...but not in the NHL. Maybe it's because they don't have the star power like some of the other teams do.

It's becoming fairly obvious to me that the NHL WANTS Sidney Crysby to be the Next Wayne Gretzky...and they will stop at nothing to make sure it happens...even if that means making outcomes of games come down to bad officiating, and trying to set up match ups that favor the Penguins when it comes down to it.
